Good Morning from Michael 2/23/11
Welcome to the second installment of the glimpse into the dark abyss that is the Echo's Editor-in-Chief mind just after he sends the paper to print. Hide your kids, hide your wife.
- Nothing too controversial in this week's issue, just some good reporting on a lot of great things happening around campus. Check out my Oscar predictions with Qainat on Page 11 in A&E. She said she was going for comically "snarky" with our predictions; please don't read it as under-informed and over-enthusiastic. Extended predictions will be on the blog Friday, and check back on the blog Monday to see how we did.
- SGA elections are coming up in a few weeks. Some great rumors are already circulating about who is going to be running for what. I love rumors!
- Loved the slam dunk contest this past weekend, Blake Griffin's elbow hang was one of my favorite dunks of all time. With the exception of a few dunks, it was great to see players move away from the props and over-the-top showmanship that has dictated the contest for the past few years and just focus on doing incredibly ridiculous aerial acrobatics.
If you're a fan of dunks and/or online procrastination, check out this visualizer of every slam dunk contest dunk since 1984 courtesy of Hoopism. Check it out here.
