Played: Not Hip-Hop

It's been a while since I posted some new songs so I figured this time around I'd focus on some different genres in order to mix it up a bit.

Track 1. Black Keys: Lonely Boy

This is the newest track from the new Black Key's album, El Camino, which is set to drop December 6th. This is one of my most highly anticipated albums of the year. This track sounds more upbeat and punchier than some of the tracks off of their most recent release, Brothers, while still maintaining their iconic sound that has made them one of my favorite bands. I am anxiously awaiting the release of this new album, and if this track is any indication, El Camino will join the other Black Keys albums on my list of favorites.

Track 2. Surfer Blood: I'm Not Ready

This is a track from Surfer Blood's newest EP, Tarot Classics. I had trouble choosing which song from the EP to write about because I enjoyed them all so much. I ended up choosing this track for the simple reason that I think it represents their sound the best. After building buzz last year with their debut album, Astro Coast, they are continuing to make a name for themselves with this drop and as the openers for the Pixies latest tour. With all the snow around after this weekend, this song brings me back to summer.

Track 3. RDGLDGRN: I Love Lamp

This is the newest track from the band RDGLDGRN, who used to be known as The Five One until a member left the band recently. This song is an interesting combination of different musical elements including indie sounding choruses, catchy pop instrumentals, and hip hop interludes. Overall, these elements combine to create an upbeat fun track that has been stuck in my head for the past few days. Their debut EP is set to release soon and I am looking forward to hearing what's next from this up and coming band.
