Happy Valentine's Day: Sea Salt Chocolate Cookies

My favorite chocolate fix. These cookies are crisp but not chewy, so for all you chewy-diehard fans this recipe is not for you.

1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup whole-wheat flour (makes them crispier) 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 5oz semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup salted butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract sea salt

In a small bowl, pour both flours, cocoa powder, and baking soda and whisk together.

Melt half of the semisweet chocolate in a bowl, then let it cool to room temp.

Beat the butter, sugar, and extract together in another bowl.

Stir in melted chocolate and then flour mixture by hand, and then add the remaining chips.

Scoop the dough into rounded teaspoons and place on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with a dash of sea salt.

Bake for 12 minutes at 350F

Tip: let cookies cool for ten minutes before moving them. They are soft when they first are taken out of the oven and need a few minutes to cool in order to preserve their shape.
