Trustees approve CCWG report

The Board of Trustees unanimously passed the Campus Culture Working Group's (CCWG) report this weekend, said Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Jim Terhune, who also led the CCWG.

Chair of the Board of Trustees Bob Diamond '73 said in an e-mail to the Echo, "The Board was most grateful for the dedicated work of students, faculty, staff, parents and trustees on the CCWG over the past year. We trust that the next steps towards implementation of these recommendations will provide continued opportunities for collaboration and look forward to seeing positive results."

The College Affairs Committee (CAC) met Monday and formed a subcommittee to begin drafting policy language on the report's sixth and seventh recommendations, which focus on a new hard alcohol policy on campus, according to Terhune.

That the Board accepted the report "does not mean these recommendations are automatically becoming policy," President of the Student Government Association Jake Fischer '10 said. "But [the Board] acknowledges...that these things should happen in some capacity."
