SGA discusses alcohol ban

Members of the Student Government Association (SGA) approved all five motions on their agenda, as well as one tentative motion, during their first meeting of the semester on February 13. Despite the high level of consensus, however, members still took the time to discuss in-  depth several of the issues at hand, specifically motion five, aimed at making the results of the hard alcohol policy visible to the student body.

With the College's hard alcohol ban still at the forefront of campus issues, similar statistics from Bates and Bowdoin, both of which already have bans in place, show that Colby's hospitalization numbers need improvement.

At Colby, the motto is work hard and play hard(er). But I must admit that it has gotten scary with reports claiming that Colby is the drunkest NESCAC and admissions books describing our entire social scene as something that revolves around alcohol.
