The men’s and women’s squash teams competed for league titles this past weekend, with both programs losing in the first round, but performing well in consolation matches.
During their first match of the weekend, the Mules faced 19th-ranked Bowdoin College. Despite some impressive individual results, the team ultimately fell in a heartbreaking 5-4 decision. In the consolation bracket, the Mules defeated Stanford University, 7-2, before falling to Columbia University, 5-4.
While the men stayed home, the women’s squash team traveled south to Princeton University for its final team competition of the season.
It was rivalry week for the Colby squash teams as the men faced the Bates College Bobcats and the Bowdoin College Polar Bears in a double-header, and the women hosted Bates in a Wednesday night home game.
With the beginning of winter comes the advent of more indoor sports, and at the Dunway squash courts, the Colby men’s and women’s squash teams are hard at work preparing for the new season.
